I am a teacher in Portland, where I was born and raised.

I teach Language Arts at De Paul Alternative School, a high school for young men in treatment for substance use disorders, and I am a part-time instructor at Mt. Hood Community College, where I teach Philosophy.

Prior to returning to Portland, I lived in Washington, D.C. and worked for the National Endowment for the Humanities, where I served as Special Assistant to the Chairman, and Ross Yoon, a literary agency representing non-fiction authors.

I earned my B.A. in American Studies from Bard, M.Sc. in Philosophy & Public Policy from the London School of Economics, and J.D. from Georgetown, where I completed additional graduate work in English and Philosophy.
